“BO & KO is more than a brand.

It’s a quiet return home.

A celebration of who we are, and who we’re still becoming.

For our babies.

For ourselves.

For the generations to come.”

Our beautiful pākihi has rebranded from BO & KO Baby to BO & KO Aotearoa.

All the time, hard work and dedication during the last 4 years of BO & KO Baby has led us to the decision to set our pākihi towards a new direction. What began as BO & KO Baby, a brand to surround our pēpi in culture, grew into providing a space for whānau, for kāinga, for identity at every stage of life. And so we have transitioned to BO & KO Aotearoa and our homeware collection was born.

Our Whakapapa

It’s important when looking to the future we reflect on where we have come from. So here's a little whakapapa into our haerenga to this point.

On maternity leave, navigating the beautiful chaos of motherhood, we shared the same realisation, our pēpi (babies) deserved more than soft blankets and cute designs. They deserved to be wrapped in their culture from day one. We couldn’t find what we were looking for, so we created it. BO & KO Baby was born in 2021, named after our sons Beau (‘BO’) and Koree (‘KO’), but made for all tamariki (children). From a kitchen table to a commercial warehouse in 2023, from late nights to nationwide shelves, this journey has been nothing but rewarding.

An initial ’idea’ has grown into being Aotearoa’s leading provider of authentic Māori baby products, stocked by major retailers and trusted by many Hauora and Iwi organisations across the motu. In 2024 we received the Māori Women's Business - Te Pōiketanga award (Emerging Business Award) and in 2025 the Māori Womans Business - Te Wahakatairanga & Tauhokohoko Award (Marketing and Sales). A recognition of the hard work we had been building from the ground up. We now have an amazing team of five kaimahi made up of accountants, business mentor, marketing specialist and part time kaimahi - plus the two of us, as hands-on directors. We are building something bigger than a pakihi (business), a movement rooted in whānau, culture, and identity.

BO & KO Aotearoa was born

The new direction of our pākihi is no longer just about pēpi, it’s about the whole whānau. BO & KO Aotearoa will hold space that uplifts the wairua, creating cozy corners that welcome rest, textures that soften the harshness of the world, kāinga (homes) where you can lay down your burdens and simply be. Emotionally, it touches something deep, a longing many feel to reconnect, to raise their tamariki (children) differently, and to create homes that are not just styled, but tell stories. Each product has been thoughtfully curated to resonate not only with tangata whenua, but with anyone who feels the pull of indigenous beauty and stories. Those who feel the mauri in every piece, a quiet power, a sense of belonging.

Through soft textiles, grounding colours, and meaningful design, BO & KO Aotearoa offers a gentle invitation to connect, celebrate, and honour culture in everyday life.

Introducing our Beautiful New Products

Kākano & whakatō cushions

Made from 100% European Flax Linen.

Ō Whakatō Duvet Sets

Made from 15% Hemp, 40% Bamboo, and 45% Cotton.

These designs depict the journey taken from the planting of a seed, to the harvesting that is done in our mara (garden), moana (ocean) and awa (rivers). We see the process in many differing ways in Te Ao Māori including the conceiving, the birth and the growing of our tamariki mokopuna.

Don't worry our pēpi products are going nowhere.

They will always remain at the heart of our pakihi, continuing to provide whānau with quality pieces made to nurture and celebrate our tamariki (children). Our new homeware range is simply an extension of our kaupapa, bringing that same quality and culture into every corner of the home.
