He Whakamāramatanga (Design meaning)
Whakatō; to plant, to cause to conceive, to fertilise.
Depicting the journey taken from the planting of a seed, to the harvesting that is done in our māra (garden), in our moana (ocean) and in our awa (rivers).
We see the process in many differing ways in Te Ao Māori including the conceiving, the birth and the growing of our tamariki mokopuna (future generations).
